I am an activist, an extroverted introvert and a passionate birthworker. A shoulder to cry on, a hand to hold, an ear to vent into. A woman, a wife, a mother.
I founded North Shore Birth Services in 2012 after moving back to the States from an expat assignment in China. I have been doing birth work in some capacity since 2010.
I am a passionate person by nature, and my own births opened my eyes to the fact that support before, during and after birth matters!
After living abroad and forming a tight knit group of friends who were also mothers, I realized how important it is for women to have each other for support in their journeys through pregnancy, birth and motherhood. Those hours spent with my friends and support persons, who massaged my back during labor, helped me position her baby so she could nurse, and reassured me that I was doing well, were invaluable.
It was this journey to motherhood that led me to this work. It is a love for supporting women and watching them realize their inner strength that keeps me going.
As a student midwife through the Massachusetts Midwives Alliance and Mercy In Action, I pride myself on being an abundant fountain of information and keeping up with the latest studies, research and reviews.
I live in Lynn with my husband, our four kids and our lazy cat. When I’m not immersed in all things birth-related, I can be found playing cello, looking for deals on mid century furniture and jumping on my bed and having pillow fights with my kids.
